From Udaipur, Rajasthan, Bhargav Mistry aka Shivoham is the composer and Sarod player behind the lyrical ambient masterpiece project of “Shivoham”.

A long time student of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Bhargav is also a self taught sound recorder and digital music programmer, he composes soulful pieces on his laptop while recording the last poets and interacting with musicians along the Silk Road from Iran to Korea via India.

 

 

 

For Bhargav, Sarod is a passion and it shows in his playing. By profession he is an Industrial Design, a career of creativity. This creativity also shows in his music, the aesthetics and the technicality of which are well balanced.

His initial training was in Hindustani Classical music from Madhuriben Khare. Later in 1991, he found a Guru in Ustad Amjad Ali Khan from whom he gets inspirations and enrichment in this art till this date.

His recent experiementations with Indian classical vocal music, European Jazz composer definitively establish Bhargav Mistry as one of the most gifted and versatile composers to emerge from the Indian classical scene in the new century.
